Accreditation
A school is accredited when it has been investigated and found worthy of approval by an accrediting agency. Accreditation alone (or the lack of it) does not determine whether or not a school is legitimate or credible, since not all accreditation is equal. Some accrediting agencies are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), but others are not recognized. Also, some schools are based outside of the U.S. and are accredited by standards which differ from those of the recognized agencies in the U.S. Prospective students should be aware of these important distinctions. Religious schools such as ours can be religiously accredited.
Online Program:
“FOR THE LOVE OF LEARNING” - The online program is a full-time experience. Working online allows the student to work independently and grow as a person, professional, and most importantly as a minister of God's Word. Both local and out-of-state students are eligible for this program.
As a religious institution we not under the jurisdiction or purview of the state and are not required to obtain licensure.
SATS does not have regional accreditation. First, we wish to continue to have experienced pastors and bishops serve as our faculty advisors Second, we want to keep the cost of tuition affordable so that more students have the opportunity to study at SATS and remain free from school debt. Accreditation by a federally recognized agency would mean that we would have to abandon these priorities. Instead, we have chosen to remain federally unaccredited and keep a religious accreditation. We seek to demonstrate the credibility of SATS through the spiritually fruitful lives of the students who have attended. We are inspired by Paul’s words to the Corinthians, “Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men.” (2 Corinthians 3:1-2)
